2.0l 8V

The 2.0 (8 valve) Corrado was introduced in late 1994 as a last ditch effort to sell the Corrado ideal to the public. It never really made any headway, and actual sales were pretty dismal, due mostly to it's rather lacklustre performance. However, it is perhaps one of the prettiest standard Corrados.

2.0l 16V

Brought to the UK in 1992, this updated Corrado boasted new features, amongst them a new 2 litre engine. Because UK emissions regulations were tightened in August 1992, the 2.0-16v was fitted with a catalytic converter to help meet these lower emissions standards. Power output and top speeds didn't differ much from the 1.8-16v, however torque increased.

1.8 G60 Supercharged

The G60 was the first taster of the High Performance Corrados. Although introduced to the UK along with the 1.8 16v in 1989. It wasn't until June of 1991 when the UK got the first Right-Hand Drive (RHD) examples to play around with. When this happened it really strutted itself, within months outselling the 1.8-16v, and that was how it was to stay until the introduction of the VR6.

VR6 Campaign

The Corrado Campaign was a very special edition of the Corrado VR6. Taken from the initial batch, they were then whisked off to the interior shop and given brick red leather interiors. They were fitted with red carpets and red steering wheels etc. The exteriors were sprayed in Dusty Mauve, a colour hitherto unheard of on Corrados. Only 6 were ever built, unfortunately there are now only 5 left - one was written off in 1999. These vehicles were originally presented to the UK's best VW Karmann dealers to do with as they saw fit, no retail price was set on them. All six appear to have been sold around the 21,000 pound mark, with hindsight, this appears to have been a bit of a bargain.
